Overview

LASA Cross-Country is a tight-knit community of runners of all levels who train and race together. Whether you are a brand-new runner, seasoned veteran, or athlete from another sport trying to stay in shape, everyone is welcome on the team. We have both competitive and non-competitive options for team members. The JV and varsity teams train to race 5K courses (about 3.1 miles) throughout the fall.

In recent years, our varsity teams have been very successful at the local, regional, and state levels. Last season the LASA Cross Country Team swept District competition. We finished the season as 2023 District 24-5A Champions in Varsity Girls, Varsity Boys, JV Girls, and JV Boys divisions.

Our LASA Cross-Country Team takes pride in its competitive success while also maintaining a focus on providing a fun, supportive community for all who want to join. If you have any questions or want more information, please contact us.

 

Summer Training

Starting June 1st, 2025 and lasting throughout the summer, LASA Cross Country will have captain-led workouts. Every Sunday morning at 6:30 AM runners will meet at Barton Springs Pool. After a run on the Butler Hike and Bike Trail, the team will take a dip in Barton Springs.

There will also be captain-led workouts at the Austin High Track every Saturday morning at 6:30 AM, and every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 7:00 PM. 

All incoming freshmen and returning runners are encouraged to attend as many of these workouts as their schedules allow. 

 

The LASA Cross Country Team will also hold its 2025 Cross Country Camp at LASA on the mornings of August 4th, 5th, and 6th from 6:30 until 8:00 AM.

Cross Country Schedule
